Sarah Karni

Sarah Karni was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara and, before returning to school, traveled, studied languages, and worked as a community builder and survivor advocate/counselor.

After graduating from the UNM School of Law in 2001, she briefly practiced family law at an Albuquerque law firm. Ms. Karni spent several years investigating and prosecuting cases for the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court before joining the Workers' Compensation Administration as a mediator in January 2006.


Richard McClarkin

Mr. McClarkin was in the United States Army for 9 years from 1963 to 1972; he is a Vietnam veteran.

Mr. McClarkin is a 1982 graduate of Antioch University. He received his J.D. from Denver University, School of Law in 1987. After law school he worked for DNA Legal Services in Farmington, New Mexico; he also worked for the New Mexico Public Defender Department in Roswell, New Mexico and in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a prosecutor, briefly, in the 13th Judicial District in 1991.

Mr. McClarkin went into private practice in May, 1993, and continued as a solo practitioner until he joined the Workers' Compensation Administration in February, 2006 as a mediator.

Tómas White

Tómas White Secretary: Trisha Cox - 505-841-6841

Tómas has been a Mediator for the Workers' Compensation Administration since September of 1993. During his undergraduate studies, he attended the University of New Mexico's Andean Center in Quito, Ecuador.

Tómas graduated from the University of New Mexico Law School in 1988, and earned his Master's Degree in Latin American Studies in 1989. Prior to coming to the Workers' Compensation Administration, he was the Staff Attorney at Las Americas Refugee Asylum Project in El Paso, Texas.

Mr. White was also an Assistant Public Defender in Albuquerque where he obtained extensive trial experience. Tómas was born and raised in Albuquerque.
